I know I’m late on this one! But make sure to get out to Eagle Rock before Sunday to enjoy The Oinkster’s 3rd annual Burger Week celebration. I missed out on some great burgers at the beginning of the week but there’s no way I could miss out on the Thrilla From Manila. I’ll be there tonight. Food pics to follow.

LA Sneakerhead to Guest Chef at Canelé, Los Angeles

Los Angeles’ very own “Shoe Chef” has announced via his Instagram that he will be a guest chef at Canelé on June 4th. The three course dinner will be $35/person and limited to 35-40 people. So come early and support the LA Sneaker Fam. The full menu is posted on his IG.

The Random Connections To People Through The Nostalgia Of Sneakers.

A few weeks back, I wore the Black/Metallic Jordan V’s to work. Keep in mind that I work in an industry where sneaker enthusiasts are few and far between. In fact, @StacksJohnson might be the only other one cut from the same “Eat Good. Stay Fresh.” cloth. But while in the office, a random, older co-worker approached me with wide eyes and said, “Hey, I know what shoes those are! I had the purple and teal ones when I was a kid!” And we had a long conversation about the history of the V’s and Michael Jordan. Crazy. I would never have thought this person could comprehend my love for sneakers, but for that brief moment, for that particular sneaker, he understood. Times like that remind me of why I love sneakers. The nostalgia. The people. The history. The relationships.

Roshe Run to Hit Nike iD

As of late, I have officially jumped on the Roshe Run bandwagon. Ever since the first day of putting a pair on my feet, I have been preaching to anyone and everyone about how comfortable they are. Trying to convert people like I was a Roshe Run missionary. They immediately sent my Koston’s to the bottom of the beater pile and have turned into my go-to sneaker for everyday wear. I constantly find myself trying to find reasons NOT to wear them just so I can give my other shoes some love. And now, on April 8th all Roshe Run enthusiasts will have the opportunity to personalize them on Nike iD. I can’t wait. And if you haven’t yet, do your feet a favor and get a pair. Trust.

Over the weekend, I finally got to try The Oinkster in Eagle Rock. It definitely lived up to my expectations. Slow Fast Food is the only way to describe it. Simple food made with attention to detail. Recommendations: Oinkster Pastrami, Belgian Fries, Ube Shake.

Pizza Rev in the valley is easily becoming my go to spot for pizza. They do personalized artisan pizzas. Unlimited fresh ingredients, homemade dough, fire deck oven, less than $8. Trust, it’s worth it.

The masterpiece you see above is topped with red sauce, mozzarella, spicy pepperoni, sweet fennel sausage, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, and basil.
